Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.0

This policy describes the conduct expected of Datorus customers and the public-web data collection use cases that are and are not permitted on our infrastructure.

Overview

Datorus operates a public-web data proxy infrastructure for teams that collect openly available information at scale. This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the conduct we ask of every customer so that our network remains trustworthy for businesses, target sites, and end users.

For a fuller catalogue of the customer scenarios we serve, please consult our Use Cases reference page, which lists representative use cases alongside their compliance posture.

Permitted use

Customers may use Datorus to collect public-web information that is freely available to a typical visitor, in accordance with applicable laws, the target site's published terms, and any rate limits the operator has declared. Representative permitted scenarios include market research, search-engine result observation, public pricing intelligence, and academic study of openly published material.

Restricted use

Customers must not use Datorus to collect personal data subject to applicable privacy laws, to interact with content that requires authentication or that has been gated by the operator, to act on behalf of multiple identities in a manner that misrepresents the requester, or to engage in conduct that contravenes the published terms or operational limits of a target site.

Reporting concerns

If you believe a Datorus customer is operating outside the boundaries of this policy, please contact our policy team. We will review the report, request additional context where appropriate, and take action consistent with our enforcement process.

Enforcement

Datorus may suspend or terminate accounts whose activity is incompatible with this policy. Where possible we will provide notice and an opportunity to remediate the conduct before applying restrictions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and announced through customer communication channels.
